Expectations for Students
Student Expectations for Participation in the Religious Education Program
Positive classroom behavior and social interactions are essential for the growth of the child in mind, body, and spirit. Each child is reminded that their participation and behavior in the religious education program reflects how they represent themselves, their family, and their relationship with Christ. To that extent, the following expectations are presented:
Each student shall:
- Attend class weekly, notifying the teacher of any emergency/absence
- Attend weekend Mass weekly with a family member
- Attend the scheduled Youth Mass with a family member
- Attend the scheduled Stations of the Cross with a family member
- Volunteer to assist with any clean-up duties when attending activities such as Sunday breakfast, Lenten Suppers
Within the classroom setting, each student shall:
- Sit quietly
- Participate in prayers
- Listen to the speaker without interrupting, showing respect for another’s thoughts, ideas, opinions
- Follow the directions of the lesson
- Be their BEST SELF
